You Don't Know What You Don't Know

Lisa Kane, DMD

Lisa Kane received her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and her B.S. from Brandeis University. She has practiced general dentistry in the Greater Boston Area for over 20 years. She is currently the owner of Dental Office Compliance of New England LLC,  which assists dental practices in complying with the myriad of regulations required by their state board, OSHA, HIPAA, and the CDC.  She teaches dental teams,  creates personalized plans and protocols for dental practices, helps them navigate the world of dental compliance, and consults with teams on Standard of Care.

Course Description:

Most dental clinical team members learn very little in school about the myriad of safety and privacy rules that govern the operation of a dental office yet all must comply with these rules and be able to demonstrate compliance. This class will help you understand what you need to do in order to be compliant with state and local regulations.

At the Conclusion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Identify the relevant governing bodies and what they focus on
  • Understand and comply with recordkeeping requirements within OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and your State Board
  • Identify the  elements included in a complete Exposure Control Plan
  • Assign responsibilities to office personnel for fulfilling the applicable requirements
  • Identify hot topics and emerging regulations
  • Begin implementing the proper protocols to comply with requirements
