with LeaAnne Haney, RDH, CPHDH & Christa Keddie, RDH, BSDH, CPHDH

Course Description:

The American Dental Association’s (ADA) Codes on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature, better known as the CDT (Current Dental Terminology) Codes, were designed to establish standardized codes and descriptions to report dental procedures.  These codes are a HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) national standard for electronic claims transactions. There are over 75 ADA CDT codes that can be performed at the dental hygiene visit. Learn strategies and guidance for proper application of the current and upcoming 2025 ADA CDT dental codes.  During this course, case scenarios will be explored with clinical documentation examples and how to apply the codes when making a dental hygiene treatment plan for your patients.

Course Objectives

1.  Understand current and new ADA CDT Codes that can be utilized at a preventive care visit.
2.  Apply the correct ADA CDT codes to dental benefit carriers to reduce errors, prevent costly mistakes and improve efficient reimbursement.
