Program Description:
This course will present new discoveries of breathing function to facial and skeletal form and physiologic comorbidities. These relationships and treatment possibilities will be presented with evidence-based publications; it is imperative for every Dentist, Physician, Health care provider to apply to their practice protocol to improve the wellbeing, performance and longevity of their patients! Attendees will learn the beginning and end of Sleep-Disordered Breathing (SDB) and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). An immeasurable gift to mankind … Imagine!
Program Objectives:
- Understand the importance of nasal breathing as well as the phenotypes in airway disorders.
- Understand how facial imbalance occurs.
- Learn the treatment objectives and considerations on bruxism, TMD, breathing and occlusal appliance therapy.
- Identify the signs and symptoms of Sleep-Disordered Breathing (SDB) and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
- Learn the timing for treatment of SDB and OSA, as well as prevention and cure
- Gain understanding of the ENT rhinologist’s evaluation and treatment considerations of airway related medical comorbidities.

John Walker, DMD*
Dr. John Walker founded the practice in 1978 and has since been a fixture in the community as a Harvard and Lunenburg orthodontist. He received his doctorate in Dental Medicine from the New Jersey School of Dental Medicine and earned his Certificate in Orthodontics from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine.
In addition to being a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Walker is also a clinical faculty of orthodontics at Boston University and a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). He has also developed many treatment protocols, and has collaborative relationships with renowned medical professionals.
Dr. Walker is an international speaker and author of several Orthodontic and Airway publications. As a pioneer in Sleep Disordered Breathing, Dr. Walker loves to travel overseas and speak about the importance of Airway Orthodontics and new discoveries in Orthodontics.
Dr. Walker has two daughters, Elizabeth and Julia. Elizabeth, like her father, is an Airway Orthodontist in Burlington, Vermont, and Julia is an Aesthetician and Yoga instructor in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Walker likes to windsurf, bike, and sail during his free time. He loves to spend time in Aruba, which led him to open a third Orthodontic office there.

Martha Neely, DDS, DMD
Dr. Neely received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from National University of Colombia and her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from Boston University, graduating with High Honors. She was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society, in 2013. She then pursued higher education and graduated from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, receiving her Advanced Graduate Studies in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and a Master of Sciences in Dentistry. Dr. Neely obtained her Orthodontics Board Certification in 2017.
Dr. Neely received additional training in Airway and TMJ disorders treatment at the University of Tennessee in 2016. She also maintains her knowledge up to date with new advances and techniques for orthodontics treatment by attending continuing education classes. She is an Invisalign and SureSmile certified provider.
Dr. Neely’s experience includes working at Boston University as Clinical Instructor and Faculty in the Department of Health Policy and Health Services Research. In addition, she has published scientific articles on dentistry and orthodontics, and has presented her research at several professional meetings. She received The Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine Science Day Award for her Oral Presentation as a predoctoral student in 2013 and as a postdoctoral student 2016. Dr. Neely has been working with Dr. Walker for the past 9 years where she has explored and developed her passion for airway and its correlation with growth and development, and orthodontics.

Yusuf Gulleth, MD, ENT
Dr. Gulleth is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at Tufts University Schools of Medicine and Cheif of Otolaryngology at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He is a Board Certified in Otolaryngology – Head and neck surgery and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Otolaryngology at University of Maryland. He has been in Practice in Massachusetts for over 15 years. His clinical interests include Medical and Surgical management of chronic sinusitis, nasal polyposis, Allergic Rhinitis and Chronic inflammatory diseases of the upper airway. He has special interest in Minimally invasive Rhinologic Surgery and Management of Upper airway obstruction and Sleep Disordered Breathing in Children and Adults.
